Privacy Policy

Drift is the wedding and events planning business operated by Elise Pope in New Zealand. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through our contact form, we collect the details you choose to give us:

• Your name, and your partner's name if you add it
• Your email address
• The kind of event, an approximate date, and the region you are planning in
• What you would like help with, and anything you write in the message

Our website is hosted on Cloudflare. As with any website, their servers automatically log standard technical information such as your IP address and browser details, which is used to keep the site secure and running. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.

When you claim a listing

If you claim a listing, we collect your name, role, business email and phone, anything you send us, and whether you would like us to contact you about working together. We use it to check the request is genuine and to act on it. Photos you send may show identifiable people, which is personal information; by sending them you confirm you have their consent to publish. We keep your contact details only as long as we need to handle your claim, plus a short record of the change for our own audit. You can ask us to delete your details using the contact below.

How we use it

We use your enquiry details to reply to you and to follow up about planning services. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for marketing. We will only send you marketing emails if you ask us to, and every such email will include a way to unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

To run the website and respond to you, we use a small number of trusted service providers:

• Resend delivers the email your enquiry generates
• Cloudflare hosts and protects the website
• Your message arrives in Elise's email inbox, where it is read and replied to

Some of these providers process information on servers outside New Zealand. We choose reputable providers that protect your information to comparable standards.

How long we keep it

We keep your enquiry only as long as we need it to respond to you and for reasonable follow-up. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us at elise@driftevents.co.nz and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Listings

Our directory lists publicly available business information about event venues and other wedding suppliers. If you run a listed business and want your listing, or a photo on it, updated or removed, please get in touch and we will action it.

Security

The website is served over HTTPS, and access to enquiries is limited to Elise. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
